This jam Denge Pose was one of the major hits in the mid 90s, no contest. Baba Fryo was on the lips of both the young and the old in the 90s.
Baba Fryo is a ghetto singer from Ajegunle, he was born Friday Igwe. His success with this song made him a house hold name. You can begin to imagine how massive a hit this jam was.
Back then , there was no bear parlour around that didn’t play this song. I remember dancing to this song seriously as a young girl. This song is epic mehn, it brings back a lot of memories. You hear us shouting “dem go dey pose, dem go dey dengedenge, dem go dey pose dem go dey waka kpuruke” and ‘yabbing’ each other or someone we didn’t like. “Banjo cloth weh dem buy yesterday naim dem wan take make shakara for me”, and this still happens.
Any way, if you were familiar with this song and you don’t have at least two kids yet, oya begin dey go for deliverance. LOL.
